Access the park directly off of Illinois Route 92 just 2 miles west of Andalusia, IL. There are three parts to this roadside park - day use, boat ramp, and campground. The park is only 200 or so feet wide by half a mile long.
Site Amenities and Recreation Opportunities:
Fishing, boating, camping, picnicking, duck hunting access location, boat ramp, vault toilets, water hydrants, group shelter.
Hours:
6:00 am - 10:00 pm during the recreation season from May 15th -October 15th annually. Camping fee of $4.00 a night during that time. Open 24 hours a day remainder of the year with limited facilities, but camping is free up to two weeks at a time.
Special Closings and Special Events:
May close for high water flooding events.
Natural Site Characteristics:
Access to backwater channel of the river. Island habitats suitable for marsh species like turtles, frogs, shoreline birds. Migratory waterfowl in spring and fall. Bald eagles in the winter and spring can be seen all along the slough when water is open.
